Martin County Shore Protection, Florida

Coastal Systems International, Inc., as a subconsultant to Burns and McDonnell, conducted hurricane damage evaluations and provided rehabilitation recommendations for the Martin County, Florida Federal Shore Protection Project. Pre/post storm hydrographic monitoring surveys of the project shoreline were analyzed. Changes in shoreline position and fill volume provided an assessment of project erosion due to Hurricane Irene in October of 1999. Based upon these changes, recommendations were provided relative to upland damage potential and the need for project rehabilitation.
