Coastal Systems secured a Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) Coastal Construction Control Line (CCCL) permit as required for those structures and activities seaward of the CCCL. As part of the CCCL permit, Coastal Systems designed a structural replacement for the existing seawall tiebacks, as the existing system interfered with the proposed pool placement.
Coastal residences situated adjacent to marine turtle nesting beaches require special lighting considerations to minimize light from becoming visible from the nesting beach. Light visible from the nesting beach can disorient both nesting and hatchling marine turtles. As such, Coastal Systems work closely with the design team to obtain exterior lighting approval from the DEP as part of the CCCL permitting process.
Coastal Systems also reviewed the structural design elements for compliance with Florida Building Code coastal regulations as interpreted and implemented by the City of Golden Beach.
