The field team at Coastal Systems International, Inc. has deployed a variety of oceanographic instruments over the years in support of coastal engineering studies.
Two submersible wave gauges are maintained in-house to measure directional waves, currents and tides. Current velocimeters are also deployed regularly to obtain tidal current velocities for calibrating coastal/hydrodynamic numerical models.
Two electronic tide gauges are available for use in conjunction with hydrographic surveys or flushing analysis. Gauges for turbidity, salinity, pH and temperature can also be utilized as part of comprehensive environmental impact assessments.
