Puerto Quetzal, Guatemala

Coastal Systems International, Inc. in conjunction with EcoPlan, prepared a master plan for this waterfront development including a cruise ship arrival area and a new 32 slip marina. Plans were prepared for the construction of the marina basin including dredging and floating docks for the 2m tide for Phase I of the development. Marina utilities were also designed including water and electrical services. Landscape planting plans were prepared along with other architecture for the cruise ship arrival area.

Floating docks consisting of aluminum structural elements and polyethylene floats were selected not only due to the 2m tidal range but also for else of shipment and rapid construction, IPE wood decking was specified.

Full construction management services were provided through Coastal Systems Development for the completion of a turn key project within 4 months after approval of the master plan.
