The lower level garage at Cocowalk in Coconut Grove was
not useable due to drainage problems with the existing
storm drainage wells. Water constantly ponded after storms
in the parking garage. Coastal Systems International,
Inc. assessed these existing wells and determined that
they were not functioning properly primarily due to their
use as dewatering wells during construction of the building.
Coastal Systems designed
a new drainage well with storm water handling appurtenances
to redirect drainage to the new well installed in the
City right-of-way. Permits were secured through the City
of Miami and DERM (Department of Envionmental Management)
for the new well, and plans with specifications prepared.
The parking garage is now open and proper site drainage
restored.
