2000 - Present: Business Development and Marine Facilities, Shoreline Foundation Inc.
- Responsibilities include serving as liaison with federal, state and county governmental and environmental agencies to insure compliance with the myriad of complex policies, rules and laws pertaining to the marine construction industry. Other duties include coordination of various professional consultants such as engineers, geologists, biologists and legal counsel. Government interaction involves locating and securing large governmental contracts and private sector marine construction projects.
1984 - 2000: Biologist: Environmental Resources Special Projects Manager, Miami- Dade County Environmental Resources Management (DERM).
- Responsibilities included pollution control compliance for upland and marine resources. Member of the DERM Class I Coastal Construction Permitting Program which involved the permitting of large marine facilities and single family docking facilities. Responsible for creating The Marine Facilities Operating Permit Program (MOP) which was designed to inspect and monitor all marine facilities in Dade County to insure and promote adherence to all environmental regulations and "Best Management Practices". This was the first program of its kind in the continental U.S. and it proved to be quite successful in large part due to its proactive relationship with the regulated marine community. It continues as model Florida's Clean Marina Program and the balance of the coastal U.S.
- Other DERM accomplishments would include permitting and construction of numerous restoration and enhancement projects throughout Dade County such as seagrass studies, shoreline stabilization, coral relocation and artificial reef construction in offshore waters and in Biscayne Bay. Organized and promoted clean-up of Biscayne Bay and The Miami River via "BAYNANZA" a waterway clean-up initiative which is celebrated annually in Miami-Dade County. DERM liaison to the Miami-Dade Seaport on marine environmental issues 1990-2000.
1980 - 1982: Research Marine Biologist, Doctor Anitra Thorhaug PhD, Marine Ecologist
- Served as research project manager for sea grass transplantation of Turtle Grass (Thalassia Testudinum); projects performed for mitigation efforts for Port of Miami expansion projects.
