Hydrographic Surveys

Coastal Systems International, Inc. has performed numerous hydrographic surveys throughout the southern United States and the Caribbean. Hydrographic surveys are performed to determine the sea floor topography (bathymetry) of a site to assist in the planning, acquisition, design, positioning, construction, operation, and maintenance of various types of planned or previously constructed projects. Coastal Systems combines soundings with differential GPS to establish a sub-meter position illustrating the seafloor characteristics. Elevations are referenced to an established vertical datum through the use of electronic tide measurements taken during the survey. The data is used to create a survey drawing or can be used as input for a surface water hydrodynamics numerical modeling study.
