Reach Pier, Florida
The Wyndham Casa Marina Resort retained Coastal Systems International, Inc. to provide architectural and engineering
design services for the Reach Pier located at the Reach
Resort in Key West, Florida.
 The
pier was designed with concrete pile supports to withstand
hurricane force winds and waves. The concrete caps support
planks with IPE wood decking for maximum service life.
There is a decorative wood trellis and gazebo, which
match the Key West historical architectural designs
and regulations. A timber boardwalk with an elegant
curve was designed to provide handicap access from the
resort building to the pier. Coastal Systems also prepared
and processed all DEP (Department of Environmental Protection)
permit.
In addition, Coastal Systems provided construction
administration services assisting in the selection of
a contractor in order to ensure that the project was
completed in accordance with the contract plans.
